For those times when you need to take a break from indulging, my Detox Green Smoothie does exactly what it says. Whether it’s after a restaurant tour on vacation or a weekend family feast, there may be times when a detox is much needed. Instead of taking products to help bring your body back, all you have to do is blend up these ingredients to help with bloating and regularity, and for an added boost, this even kicks up your metabolism!

Health Benefits
Just by looking at my Detox Green Smoothie, you can probably take a hint that it’s healthy from the green color. Green smoothies usually contain ingredients that help the body in various ways, and this one is especially targeted for a detox. First, let’s start with the green ingredients, the celery and spinach. Celery may seem like an interesting choice for a smoothie, because it actually is. Celery is high in fiber for regularity, and it’s low in calories as well. On top of being beneficial for eyesight, the spinach also boosts metabolism and provides a good source of fiber as well.
Next, we have ginger, a powerful root that is popular for its benefits on digestion as well. Mango, aside from naturally sweetening the smoothie and being high in Vitamin C for immunity, is also great for healthy digestion. As you can tell by the trend, all of these ingredients help with digestion, which is vital for detoxing.
The last ingredient is green tea, which is full of antioxidants and also boosts metabolism. If you are sensitive to caffeine, you can try a decaffeinated version.

Smoothie Tips
Since this smoothie takes green tea, it’s best if the tea is chilled. I just make extra and reserve some for my smoothies in a separate jar, that way you don’t have to brew a cup and wait for it to cool down just for the smoothie. I also find it refreshing to switch up my smoothies from having a milk-base, like almond milk, to something else like tea that has its own set of benefits.
If you have the time, you can use fresh fruit for this Detox Green Smoothie, but if you want to save time, you can use frozen fruit. I keep a bag of frozen mango in my freezer because it is so much more convenient. If you decide to use fresh fruit, just add some ice to the blender (affiliate link).

Meal Prep Tips
I have a variety of smoothie recipes that can help you develop a smoothie meal prep. I can get tired of the same flavors every single morning, which is why I like to switch it up. This Detox Green Smoothie is a great way to clean up that digestive system while drinking something delicious.
To meal prep, I find that mason jars are a convenient way to keep the ingredients together and ready to be added quickly to a blender, but you can also use freezer bags or other containers. Just make sure to keep the green tea out of the freezer and add it when you’re ready to blend.
Sometimes what we eat during the week can take a toll on us, so every now and then, switch up your meals so that you’re giving your body a chance to take a break. Keep my Detox Green Smoothie in rotation and you’ll start your mornings off feeling better than the night before!
