I’ve already shared my secret to clear and healthy skin, and this Aloe Vera Smoothie definitely helps with that. I love using this plant not only on my face to help the outside of my skin, but I also love to include it in my diet to help my skin from the inside out. Aloe Vera helps to regenerate skin cells and repair and build tissue, and that’s really important as the days get longer and the sun gets warmer. This amazing plant has so many other benefits, like aiding in weight loss, so why wouldn’t you try this in your diet?
For this simple Aloe Vera Smoothie recipe, I combined two of my favorite fruits in the blender (affiliate link), strawberries and bananas, to really boost up the flavor. Aloe Vera tends to have a bitter taste and the natural sugars and flavors in the fruit help to mask that. Let’s not forget that strawberries are high in vitamin C and bananas are packed with potassium, which can both help with healthy skin. Since I used almond milk, this makes the Aloe Vera Smoothie a vegan drink that’s also gluten-free and good for the Whole30 diet.
You can get single leaves of Aloe Vera plant at Asian or Latino markets, if you’re not lucky enough to have your own plant growing at home. It may look intimidating to make but after watching my video, you’ll see that it’s actually pretty fun to cut your own Aloe Vera plant!
