My Healthy Holiday Gift Guide

The holidays are a great time to give the gift of health. Since the season of giving is right before the new year, why not gift something that will make healthy living a whole lot easier for your special someone? Here is a list of my top picks for healthy holiday gifts.  Let me know if you order anything from this healthy holiday gift guide.

1) My Healthy Dish Cookbook

My Healthy Dish bookcover

Obviously you are on my website for a reason, perhaps to find healthy recipes, so why not share that same reason with your loved ones and give them my cookbook? It’s filled with over 85 recipes and colorful photos that will be sure to please even the pickiest of eaters. The cookbook is separated into sections for breakfast, sauces and sides, and has dishes for vegetarians, meat eaters, and vegans too….great for those who have resolutions to eat healthier in the new year.

2) Amazfit Moonbeam Activity and Sleep Tracker

Activity tracking devices are all the rage, but let’s be honest, some of them are not fashion-friendly.   That’s where Amazfit comes in with the Moonbeam Activity and Sleep Tracker. I love that it resembles beautiful jade jewelry and looks nothing like a typical activity tracker. But open up the app and there is an easy interface that calculates your steps and converts them into miles and active calories, and even breaks down your sleep into light, deep, and awake periods. This is great for that fashionable someone who wants to be conscious of activity but doesn’t need all the extra data. What’s even better is that there are additional accessories that you can get to style the tracker even more based on activity and style preference. The tracker can be worn as a necklace with the Infinity and can even be changed to the Sport wrist accessory that’s suitable for more active workouts.

3)  Lift Meal Prep Containers

Help your loved ones get started on their meal prep journey with Lift’s pack of 7 meal prep containers. These containers are BPA free and are safe for the microwave, freezer, and dishwasher. They stack up well so you can bet that you’ll see some of those meal prep pics on your feed after you gift them to your friend. I would recommend getting at least 2 packs so that your meal prepper can be set with enough containers for the week. The added bonus is that this set also comes with an ebook to with tips and recipes so that there is no excuse for your friends and family to get started.

4)  “No More Excuses Diet” Book by Maria Kang

Speaking of no excuses, my friend Maria Kang has a book that can help excuse any excuses and get anyone on the right track to creating healthy habits. Her approach is great as it splits up the plan in 3’s: 3 days to drop all excuses; 3 weeks to change eating habits, and 3 months to total transformation.   Additionally, it includes a customizable workout guide and 7 weeks of workout plans. Maria is a mom of three, so if there are any mothers in your life that could use an extra push, this is a good read for her!

5) Chef Sushezi Roller Kit

This is one of those gifts that you can bring to a white elephant gift exchange, and it might just be stolen more than once! This interesting contraption shoots out a perfect roll of sushi that gets rolled into the seaweed wrapper, so there still is an element of sushi-rolling involved. This is a great gift to give to the sushi lover who wants to experiment with different ingredients without sacrificing any food due to a bad roll.

6) Hydro Flask Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle

Most people own too many water bottles, but after they own a Hydro Flask, they might want to toss all the other ones out! These water bottles can keep drinks cold for 24 hours, or hot for 6 hours, and come with a lifetime warranty. The exterior doesn’t sweat, which is one problem I’ve had with many other water bottles. They come in an array of colors so you could get a different color for everyone in the family!

7) Cast Iron Skillet

It might take some extra muscles to wrap up this gift and carry it to the party, but it’s such a practical and useful one. A cast iron skillet is a must in anyone’s kitchen and it’s one pan that can do it all. It can go from the stove to the oven and even on that campfire! If your loved one doesn’t own one, make sure that you gift them one now and they’ll think of you each time they use it, which might be frequently since it’s so versatile. I can do almost all of my cooking in a cast iron skillet.

8) Digital Rice Cooker/Slow Cooker/Food Steamer

This is a great all-in-one kitchen item that will help free up some counter space. Not only is this a rice cooker and food steamer, but it’s also a slow cooker. Aside from freeing up space, you’ll also grant your loved one some extra free time, as a slow-cooked recipe is the best dinner to come home to. I have slow-cooker recipes in the My Healthy Dish Cookbook if you want to get an extra gift to give them a head start on healthy cooking.

9) Marble Salt Box

For the foodie who is all about aesthetics, this swivel top salt box is perfect for that Instagram-worthy photo. It looks pretty enough to live on the countertop or the social media feed and functional enough to be used for every dish that requires just a pinch or two of salt. What’s great is that this has two compartments to house different seasonings, and also has a swivel top to keep it clean.

10) Self-Watering Herb Pot

For the chef on your list, having access to fresh herbs in the kitchen would be a dream come true. This self-watering pot makes it easy to keep herbs growing right on the countertop, even for those without a green thumb. Plus, some greenery in the kitchen is always a good thing, both for looks and for the smell, and it can save many trips to the grocery store.  Using fresh herbs are a great way to season food without using too much salt, leading to a healthier diet.
