My family and I were invited to Disneyland in Anaheim this week and I got to go to my first ever Disney Social Media Moms Conference. We decided to keep it a secret so the girls would be really surprised when we arrived. I told them we were going on another mommy work trip, and man were they cranky waking up at 4:30am to catch our morning flight. When we landed we were able to take the Disney Express Shuttle to the Disney Grand Californian Hotel and Spa. Even though we were in the Disney Express Shuttle the girls still could not put the clues together. We we arrived at the hotel and I did a live video of the moment they finally put it all together and it was hilarious. We told them that we were staying there and going to Disneyland for the next four days and the shock on their faces was priceless.
Our first day we hit the park running. We definitely took advantage of the Disney Magic Hour which is available for guest of the hotel. We were able to go to Disney California Adventure Land one hour before the park opened. Lets just say we went on the Cars Radiator Springs Ride twice, Soaring and Grizzly River Run within that hour. After that we took advantage of the Max Pass feature on the Disney app. Instead of going to the actual ride to pull a fast pass, we did in conveniently through the app. It made it much easier to maximize our time and map out the park.
My husband and the girls absolutely love the movies Guardians of the Galaxy and Spider Man and it was so perfect that we came during Summer of Heroes. They got to meet Spider Man, pretend to shoot webs and Shayna even did a dance off with the Starlord! I couldn’t quite muster the courage to ride the new Guardians of the Galaxy attraction, but from the happy faces of everyone walking out it looked like a fun ride. Be sure to visit Disneyland soon because Summer of Heroes ends September 10th 2017.
Disneyland is known for all their amazing food and treats. My husband of course had to have the turkey leg, Shayna is obsessed with the churros, Kiera must have her dole whip everyday and I can not go to Disneyland without having my chocolate Mickey Ice Cream bar. This trip we all got to try the Milk and Honey Funnel Cake at Hungry Bear Restaurant and it was just life changing! I don’t know how I’m going to survive without it until we visit again. If you visit the park, please order it! You will not be disappointed.
During the day my girls are all about rides, but I did sneak in a showing of Frozen and Disney Junior Dance Party. My girls were singing along and dancing, while the parents had a much needed break. I swear, I don’t know how they were never tired and my feet and back were aching. I took full advantage of anytime we could just sit and enjoy shows. Every night I chose a different show for us to watch. The first night we had front row seats to the Main Street Electrical Parade and our hands were waving like crazy at all our favorite cast members. The second night we watch Disneyland Fireworks. We saved the best for last, we were able to watch the newly enhanced Fantasmic! Not to give too much away, but I did spy a floating carpet ride, pirate ship duel and dragon!
One of the highlights during this trip was to finally be part of the Disney Social Media Moms Conference. I didn’t know what to expect, but I was thoroughly surprised of everything I learned and saw. I got see whats was upcoming for Disney like the upcoming Star Wars and Pandora attraction. We got a exclusive sneak peak of the movie Olaf’s Frozen Adventure and meet the director. By the way, the movie clips we were able to preview had me smiling and laughing. It’s sure to be a hit with the family Nov. 22nd. We learned social media tips for Instagram and video tips from Babble. The guest speaker was the inspiring Amy Robach from Good Morning America. Whom we also had some private one on one time with. Amy gave me some insights on how to prioritize my life and put myself as a priority, which I think I just needed to hear from another busy mom.
While I was at the conference my family hung out at the hotel and took full advantage of everything it had to offer. The girls participated in the Grand Quest which is like a scavenger hunt in the hotel, did the pool party with Disney Cast Members and had breakfast buffet where Chip & Dale came to hang out. I swear four days still feels like not enough time to explore everything Disneyland has to offer. I’m already thinking about our next visit.
