Healthy Breakfast with Silk

I’m a true believer that making small healthy choices daily, especially if you start your day with one. For instance, I feel amazing when I get a full night sleep. I wake up with more energy, I’m more alert and I get more accomplished. I also believe small healthy choice like that effects the rest of my choices during the day. Something as small as having a healthy breakfast should be a victory. By choosing oatmeal instead of bacon is a step in the right direction. My go to simple breakfast is oatmeal and chia seeds cooked in Silk Unsweetened Almond Milk. I love keeping it simple with adding some fresh fruit and Hemp seeds. By keeping my recipes with simple ingredients and short cook times, it’s so much easier to stay on track. I have bigger goals in mind like running a half marathon this year, but I know that’s going to take work and effort to get to that point. That goal is will be accomplished at the end of the year, but I’m still celebrating small victories like running 5k last week under 35 minutes!

With my oatmeal breakfast I have enough energy to hit the gym in the morning. I have enough fuel for my workouts with feeling heavy meal in my stomach weighing me down and making me feel sluggish. To me, maintaining a healthy lifestyle should be kept simple. The more we feel we need to do the more stressful it becomes and the more unattainable our goals are. It doesn’t have to be Kale salads, boiled chicken breast and hours at the gym. I like finding healthy foods I enjoy and don’t force down broccoli if I don’t like it.

We all have a choice in our diet. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Just by starting off my morning with a healthy breakfast is already progress. If lunch happens to be a slice a pizza, then I know dinner will probably be a salad. It’s all about balance for me. As long as you’re making progress in your health goals that is all that matters. I’m joining silk and spreading the word that progress is perfection. We are everyday people celebrating progress in our daily lives. Just by me starting my day with a healthy breakfast is progress.
