Did you know you could make donuts in the air fryer? You can also make these 10 minute Air Fryer Donuts without the hassle of making the dough from scratch! I’ve been sharing several recipes for Air Fryer Donuts with homemade dough. The recipe is delicious, but also time consuming because you have to wait for the dough to rise. If you have the patience and time, I definitely recommend making it from scratch.
But if you are short on time, here’s my quick hack: use Pillsbury Flakey Biscuits as your donut dough! It’s almost a cross between a donut and croissant and I would say it’s very similar to a cronut.
Air Fryer Tips
Making these in the air fryer is healthier than deep frying these donuts. But not all air fryers are the same. I actually have three air fryers and they all perform differently, especially when it comes to temperature. I used my Ninja Foodi Air Fryer Oven this time around so I could watch the donuts cooking and make sure I had the right brown color. I started at 325F degrees for 7 minutes, but ended adding additional 3 minutes.
Tips on the Chocolate Glaze
Typically I prefer a simple glazed donut, but for my 10 Minute Air Fryer Donuts, I did a chocolate glaze with sprinkles. When dipping your donuts in the glaze make sure the donuts are warm, not hot, because it will just be a melting mess. When taking the donuts right out of the air fryer, I recommend letting it cool for five minutes before adding the glaze.
My daughter could not wait for the chocolate glaze to cool and snuck in bite. As you can see the Pillsbury Dough was a little flakey and had layers, but it was also airy and chewy just like a donut.
