Breakfast Pitaya Bowl

Although we all know what Acai bowls are, Pitaya bowls are still relatively new on the health scene. It’s naturally deep pink color is similar to Acai, but the taste is different. Acai I would say is slightly more tart, where Pitaya is very mild somewhat mild flavor. Which makes it a great base when adding toppings to bowls. It will not over power any fruit or nuts you add, but enhances it. If you like Acai Bowls, you will definitely like Pitaya Bowls.

Pitaya Bowl

My Breakfast Pitaya Bowl was so beautiful that I almost didn’t want to eat it. Pitaya aka Dragon Fruit is a superfood that comes in this bright pink color and also white. It’s low in sugar, high in fiber, rich in antioxidants, vitamin C (equivalent to 10% of your daily value), polyunsaturated fatty acids, carotene and protein. The seeds itself contain the polyunsaturated fats (omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids), when digested aids in reducing triglycerides and lowering the risk of cardiovascular disease. It is the perfect start for the morning. You can do a smoothie bowl or a smoothie. It’s also just great on it’s own. My kids love it because of it’s bright pink color.
