Wonton Tacos

I’m so exited about my Wonton Tacos, it’s the perfect appetizer for any party. The Wonton Tacos had perfect flavor and came bite size. I love the recipe so much that I even filmed it for my Youtube channel. It was so easy to make and turned out so delicious. It was my first time making it and I was worried that the wontons would burn in the oven because they were so delicate and thin. By brushing both sides with avocado oil, I felt it gave the wonton shells a crispy texture with becoming stale. The Wonton Tacos were stuffed with my seasoned ground turkey and topped with cheese and avocado. It’s the perfect appetizer for your Summer party or BBQ.

Wonton Tacos
Recipe type: Healthy
Cuisine: Asian
  • 2-3 dozen wonton wrappers
  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp. minced garlic
  • 2½ tbsp. avocado oil
  • ½ tbsp. cumin
  • ½ tbsp. paprika
  • ½ tbsp. ancho chili
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 large avocado
  • 1 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend
  1. Lightly brush wonton wrappers with avocado oil on both sides.
  2. Add wonton wrappers in mini cupcake pan. The larger ones are too big and won't form a shell.
  3. Pre-heat oven to 350F˚ degrees and bake for 5-6 minutes. Keep an eye on this, you want the wontons to be golden brown.
  4. In large skillet heat remaining avocado oil to medium high heat and add garlic and onions. Cook for 3-4 minutes and then add ground turkey, cumin, paprika, ancho chili, salt and pepper. Cook for another 7-8 minutes or until turkey is fully cooked.
  5. To assemble, add a small spoonful of our seasoned ground turkey, top with some avocado and shredded Mexican cheese blend.
